I recently studied to be a certified aqua instructor which gave me tremendous insight on the benefits of exercise in the water as compared to land. That one hour can work out all the muscle groups, get that aerobic kick and provide an environment that makes it so much easier on the body while increasing our strength AND having fun! This is what I find in attending aqua aerobics classes. This took me on vacations all around the world on adventures living on sailing and dive vessels in places like the Galapagos, Cayman Islands and Philippines to name a few.īesides that feeling of adventure and awe of what I saw in the ocean, I got physical workouts I didn’t realize were occurring because again in the water it is another world for me and now I hope I can make that happen for others. I remember joining the swim team and synchronized swimming team and loving every minute of it, because once you are in the water, that world is all you think about, truly “living in the moment”.Īs an adult when I got to California, my dream since childhood, I expanded my world of water to the ocean and learned to scuba dive. The cost is $10 per course (drop-in) or $96 for a 12 punch pass (expires after 2 years) There are heated changing rooms and showers. There are three lap lanes available during recreational swim hours at Larkey.

Capacities are enforced and participants arriving after capacity has been reached will be put on a waiting list and must remain in Larkey Park. The spray park has a maximum capacity of 60 kids as mandated by the county. The pool is not available for recreational swim.

During sprayground only hours only the sprayground is open.

During recreational swimming at Larkey the large sections of shallow and deep water are open along with the diving boards and the sprayground.Inflatable Obstacle course access is available for $2.During recreational swimming at Clarke the wading pool, recreational section of the 50m pool, and diving well are open.Not Valid for lap swim or water exercise courses.
